The Creation of the Department

The Department of Islamic Studies was founded in 1426-1427 H  as one department of the faculty of Education , being as a branch of females teaching section in the ministry of education and teaching . In 1426 , the faculty was then attached to the university of king Khaled . When the university of Najran had been created in 1427 h , the faculty was joined to it under the name of : Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Sharurah . It has been developed to accommodate both departments of  boys and girls.

Today , the department of the Islamic Studies is working on to produce qualified and competent  graduates on both sides of education and preaching . This is due to diversity of the Islamic  programs taught within the department , in addition  to the teaching of the practical and theoretical  Islamic Culture  for students of other departments .
